![]() ![]() Throughout the next few hours as were hiking along I’m thinking of how to further the story in just one sentence and only at the times were stopped and seemingly nothing else is going on. Standing there, breathing, wordless, I say something in the best Rucks voice i could impersonate “Well, that was then, back before the Calamity….” and leave it as that, say nothing else and soon we continue hiking on. We end up stopping for a moment to catch our breath and let a few of the others in our party to catch up. So I get to thinking how I am going to tell this story without introduction and without explanation go the guys I was backpacking with. Around the 4th or 5th day and several miles into that days hike I am reminded of Rucks and the way he told the story. Well, I had ventured off into the wilds of California with some friends for 8days or so. ![]() Last summer I had already played through the entirety of The Bastion and I was totally immersed in the story so I payed real close attention to it. Hey there! I would like to say that this transcription is fantastic, and I’d like to tell you a little story! But he does his best, trying to keep Rucks’ personality alive in his additions, and is open to any constructive criticism. He’s never written fanfic or any sort of story, only a few hours spent on role-playing forums. He’s not a very experienced author, though. Therefore, he offers his version of the story to the only place that might accept his wasted hours of typing: the internet. Sadly, since the narration is around 3,000 lines long and Imag doesn’t go out if he can avoid it (the sun, you see, it burns him), he can’t. His plan was to transcribe the entire narration of the game, then tell the story of the Kid and the Bastion while sitting around a campfire at night with friends. After completing Bastion, he wanted to share the amazing story with his friends. The Bastion Story is small project by Imag, a nerd. These extra sentences are a slightly different shade of color, so it is easier to separate from the narration. ![]() As such, most of the “story” will be directly from the game, and only a few extra sentences will be included, to add coherence. To differentiate itself from a simple copy-pasta, The Bastion Story is an attempt to turn the narration into an actual oral story, like how Rucks told their story to Zia. It has been painstakingly copied word for word from the game itself, and double-checked with the subtitles files, although there still may be a few typos hiding around. The Bastion Story is a transcription of the narration of the game Bastion by Supergiant Games. ![]()
